Stages of Learning English at Pines International Academy
Students who learn English at Pines International Academy have different courses to choose from (you can check our programs here: courses). Some students want to improve their English in a short span of time so they choose "English Sparta Courses". Others choose "Test Module Courses" to get their target scores in their specific test program. Pines may have various English courses that students can choose from, but all students undergo the three levels of learning the English language.
The most basic in acquiring English as a second language is the confidence to use it in every situation that calls for it. Refresher Course Department aims to build students confidence by guiding the learners to know and use more vocabularies and useful sentence patterns. In other words, Refresher Department helps students establish basic communication skills.
The aim of Bridging Course Department is to enhance among learners the ability to initiate, sustain and end a conversation. This is in order to accomplish the goals set for them. This learning level is to provide an avenue for the ESL learners to put in practice the skills developed from the previous level. This is the phase where their strong points are mainly highlighted and at the same time, more focus is given to their identified weaknesses.
The ultimate destination of students in Pines International Academy is the Advanced Course Department. As students are placed in the highest levels of proficiency, they are provided with practical activities that make learners speak and use the English language close to those of the native speakers.
As students progress from one proficiency level to another, they would experience the differences of each curriculum and the study effort that is required of them to exert. Each level has unique qualities designed for every learner to improve his or her English speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. The hardships of getting through the different levels pose a great challenge to every learner, but then, it is worth trying to experience all the levels.
